It has been a very busy week for major injuries. The Baltimore Ravens has three season ending injuries in training camp and played tight end Nick Boyle on short term injured reserve due to a right knee injury. I highlighted a few of the bigger injuries over but there have been many. Not included on the list is Oregon Duck linebacker Justin Flowe (foot), Carson Wentz (foot) appears to be starting after initially being projected to miss 5-12 weeks due to a freak injury, the same one that then sidelined teammate Quenton Nelson (foot), who is also now projected to play as well, after being given the same projected time missed due to surgery. And lastly offensive lineman Richie Incognito (calf) is out for the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.

Justice Hill, Running Back, Baltimore Ravens
Ruptured Achilles’ Tendon – Out for Season, should be healthy for 2022-2023 NFL season and ready for training camp

Marcus Peters, Cornerback, Baltimore Ravens
Torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament – Out for Season, should be healthy for 2022-2023 NFL season and may miss part of training camp next season

Gus Edwards, Running Back, Baltimore Ravens
Torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament – Out for Season, should be healthy for 2022-2023 NFL season and may miss part of training camp next season

Gerrit Cole, Starting Pitcher, New York Yankees
Hamstring Tightness – I believe he is going to miss at least 1-2 weeks. Even though the Yankees have dropped the last 7 games, soft tissue injuries, especially the hamstrings are likely to linger throughout the season if adequate treatment is not established from the onset.
Henry To’o To’o, Inside Linebacker, Alabama Crimson Tide
Elbow – Playing against Mercer, Saturday, September 11th. I tried finding video, but the fall looked much worse than the sprained elbow he sustained.

Christopher Allen, Outside Linebacker/Defensive End, Alabama Crimson Tide

Broken foot – Out for Season. I do not know what bone (tarsal or metatarsal) was broken. But he should be healthy for the 2022-2023 football season. He should be available for NFL training camps, but depending on the surgery and bones broken timetables for injuries do vary.
Kayvon Thibodeaux, Defensive End, Oregon Ducks

Ankle – Likely to miss game against Ohio State Buckeyes. Lateral ankle sprains are more common than medial ankle sprains. The medial ankle ligaments also known collectively as the Deltoid Ligament. But he was rolled up on by his teammate in the season opener against Fresno State. It was a medial ankle sprain and he’s likely out for at least the next 4 weeks.

Curtis Samuel, Wide Receiver, Washington Football Team
Groin – Has been placed on Injured Reserve List. The group of adductor muscles make up the “groin.” You have the adductor magnus, adductor longus, adductor brevis and obturator externus. He missed a lot of the summer and most of training camp with this injury and after re-aggravating the injury, they have placed him on the IR. Even when he does return, he’s likely going to be limited the first few weeks back not only due to the injury but his physical conditioning will also be limited. Groin injuries, similar to hamstring injuries can linger throughout the entire season.
